Fairy Shrimp Monitoring
Our first Fairy shrimp EcoWatch session of the season will take place this weekend, Sunday, January 18th at 12:30 pm to ~3:00 pm. Our work session will include monitoring water pH, depth, and temperature, as well as collecting data on fairy shrimp abundance and size.
Please RSVP for the monitoring session as space is limited
Under 19?: Please make sure to have the Parent or Guardian Permission Form signed and returned to us. We request that volunteers be over the age of 12 and that children and young people below the age 16 be accompanied by an adult when volunteering.
We will meet at the trailhead where Sword Fern trail meets University Boulevard, at 12:30 pm. There is a bike rack and parking in the University Chapel parking lot (south side along cedar hedge – ask Leaders for a “parking permit”). Bus transport is regular along University Blvd.
Rain is forecast for Sunday, so please dress for the weather and bring waterproof boots. The ground at the site is wet and has many unavoidable ankle-deep puddles. You may also want to bring water and a snack, as we will have the opportunity for a break.
Event Address: University Boulevard and Sword Fern Trail
